Saturday Spotlight - Tara Lain

Greetings fans! Welcome to the Saturday Spotlight. I'm happy to have Tara Lain here again. She's one of my favorite authors and people! Look at the latest book. She's autobuy for me so I'll be getting it soon. Here she is with a blogpost.

Adding Spice to Sex Scenes

I love being here at It’s Raining Men! Thank you so much for inviting me. When you’re an erotic romance author, people often ask how you can write all those sex scenes and make them different. Well, most important in keeping sex scenes fresh is to stay in the deep point-of-view of the character so the reader gets to experience everything the character does and remember that the scene is not just about sex. It is designed to illuminate character and to move the story forward.
Okay, with that said, it is fun to spice up sex scenes with something a little different like a different location or other new experience. I recently read one authors blog where she said she never seemed to get her characters to the bedroom. They were always having sex someplace else. I guess a lot of my boys like the comfort of a bed, but still, some new venues do creep in.  Just as in life, cars are a great place to have sex. In Genetic Attraction, I have three people in the back of an SUV. Quite a juggling act. And in Golden Dancer, my ballet dancer and billionaire art collector have sex the first time in the back of a limo. That’s pretty doable even if they do almost wind up in a different state before the driver turns around. In Deceptive Attraction, the two heroes have sex up against a dishwasher. Sometimes that bending over thing just presents too much temptation. And in my new work in progress, Beach Balls, the heroes manage to share oral sex underwater. Now there’s a feat!
Even if the location is a nice comfy bed, details can spice up a scene. The heroes in Fire Balls have sex when one of them is posing nude while the other paints. Talk about too much temptation. The two guys in Volley Balls have sex in a bed but the reader knows that someone else is listening outside the window. That increases the tension. Perhaps the most fun is the sex scene in my new release, Spell Cat. One hero, unbeknownst to the other, is a witch. When they have sex he loses control of his powers and causes a huge thunder and lightning storm. That is tough to explain.
What’s the most unusual sex scene you’ve read?

Excerpt Adult: Spell Cat by Tara Lain; MM Paranormal Erotic Romance
Available from Loose Id  and Amazon
When Killian Barth, history professor, meets Blaine Genneau, quantum physicist, they ignite their own big bang. But sadly, Killian walks away because he doesn’t do physics professors. In fact, he doesn’t do humans; Killian is the most powerful male witch in 10 generations and, though gay, he’s expected to save his declining race by reproducing. Sex with humans depletes his power – or so he’s been taught. Then why can young human, Jimmy Janx, dissolve spoons with a thought? Somebody’s a lying witch. With his powerful cat familiar, Aloysius, on his shoulder, Killian brings the lightning against deceit and greed to save Blaine from danger and prove love is the greatest power of them all.
“Wanted to see you.”
“Need to touch you.” His fingers traced a line of tingling heat down Killian’s neck.
“Oh yes.”
Blaine sighed. “But I have another class in half an hour, so we’ll have to save serious touching until later.”
Killian’s cock throbbed. “No, now.”
“I brought the car.”
“Really, you have a car?”
“Yes. Follow me.”
In one big leap, Aloysius landed on Blaine’s shoulder. “Whoa.” He laughed. “Hi, fella.” He reached up to hold the cat in place. As if the feline couldn’t stay on a moving F-35 if he wanted to.
Killian led the way out of the history building to the side parking lot in the back, where he always put the electric sports car. Body on fire. Couldn’t get to the car fast enough.
As they approached the sleek little vehicle tucked into a saved space in the far back of the lot, Blaine stopped. “Holy shit. You are kidding me. I thought you were poor.”
“It’s my one indulgence.”
“Jesus. Indulge me, baby.”
Killian unlocked. “Get in.”
Blaine walked around to the other side and looked in. “Uh, Killian, it’s pretty small in here.”
“There’s room.” Maybe not for his erection. “Get in.”
“Where’s Al going to fit?”
“There’s a little room in the back. He likes it back there. Or at least he will if you’re in the car.”
Blaine crawled in his side, depositing Al in the small storage space behind the passenger’s seat. Killian sat in the driver’s seat and closed the door, shutting the world out. Fortunately, it wasn’t too warm today, so they didn’t need the air. Good. Less obvious that way if somebody noticed the car.
Killian unfastened his belt and began work on his zipper.
Blaine watched. “You really think this is possible?”
“It has to be, or I’ll implode. The console’s pretty small. Just get your cock out and let me sit on it.”
“Since you put it that way.” He unfastened his jeans and pulled them down to his knees, taking his boxer briefs with them. His big, hot cock sprang free. Oh gods, Killian’s mouth watered, but there wasn’t much time for preliminaries.
He reached over to the glove compartment and pulled out a paper bag. “I got this yesterday and stashed it here to take home. Good fortune.” He pulled out a bottle of lube and box of condoms. Of course, it was just for appearances. While Blaine fit the condom, Killian worked the damned plastic off the lube bottle. He applied a tiny tug of magic, and it ripped. He flipped open the cap. “Give me your hand.” Blaine held out his palm, and Killian squirted.
Blaine applied his sticky hands to the big rod and massaged until the latex was shiny and delectable, making little grunting noises as he did it.
“That is so pretty.” Killian dripped lube into his own hand, rose up as best he could under the steering wheel, and pushed lube into his hole. Felt good, but not good enough.
Blaine held his cock upright in his hand. “Here it is, baby. Get on if you can.”
Killian slipped out from under the steering wheel and tried to throw his left leg across the low console. Stuck. Damn. This wouldn’t work with the pants on at all.
Blaine laughed. Killian glowered. “Men have died for less than that laugh, my friend. I’m desperate for that cock.”
He pulled back, ripped his pants off, and tried the maneuver again. Leg across, foot on floor, cock sticking out like a flagpole, other leg over, knee on seat, other knee on seat. Ahhhh. Cock pressing into hole. Oh yes. Ohhhhh. He lowered himself fully onto Blaine’s magnificent penis.
Blaine moaned. “I think you could take that move to the circus. Do it.”
Not much time. Ride hard. Up on his knees until the cock almost popped out. Down hard, so the dick pushed so far in, he thought he could taste it in his mouth. Up, down, up, down. Felt so good. Up, down. Had to bend his back to keep from hitting the roof. That was okay. The top of his head was about to come off anyway. Up, down. Hot, hard. Yes.
“Jesus, Killian. Ride.”
Killian’s cock rubbed against Blaine’s shirt. Going to leave a trail, but great friction. Oh gods, going to come. Have to… “Holy gods, Blaine.” Damn! The shirt. He grabbed for his spurting cock and managed to hold most of his fountain of cum in his hand as the orgasm ripped through him.
Blaine’s body bucked up into him.
Power filled Killian’s body until he knew he could light the city with it. Other people felt that way, but in his case, it was true.
Still breathing heavily, he leaned forward and kissed Blaine’s cheek. “Are you going to be able to teach a class after this?”
“Hell, yeah. I think having sex in this car has extended the laws of physics.”

Tara Lain never met a beautiful boy she didn’t love – at least on paper. A writer of erotic romance, mostly ménage and male/male, Tara loves all her characters, but especially her handsome heroes. A lifelong writer of serious non-fiction, Tara only fell in love with EROM in 2009 and, through perseverance and lots of workshops, had the first novel she ever wrote published in January of 2011. Then she capped off the year by being voted Best Author of 2011 in the LRC Awards and had her Genetic Attraction Series named runner-up for Best Series of 2011! A very good year. After an exotic life of travel all over the world and work in television, education and advertising, Tara settled in Southern California with her soul-mate husband and opened her own small marketing business. She paints, collages, and started practicing yoga “way before it was fashionable”. Passionate about diversity, justice, inclusion and new ideas, she says on her tombstone it will read, “Yes”.
